plastic card is covered by Security Shield Hologram. It
protects the card and prolongs its life as well as
eliminates any possibility
of counterfeiting.
IDD has a unique security feature -
newly developed 2D barcode (PDF417) that holds
encrypted information and is fully readable by
police scaners.

A translation of the National Driver's
License is made by IADC (in book form), the IDD has 8
different pages which translate your National Drivers License
into 8 different languages.
These categories are used for International
Driver Document. Possessing specified category is not
equal to having the right to drive vehicle described in the
category on the territory of foreign country. Once IDD
is a translation of foreign driver's license, IDD
categories describe vehicles that driver is permitted to
operate in the country where his original driver license was
issued. Thus when planning to drive abroad, you should check
with foreign country authorities if your driver license with
IDD is sufficient to drive vehicle you are planning to
drive abroad.
From our experience we know that in most
countries you can drive passenger car or small van
(category B) using your original driver license and
IDD. When you plan to drive truck or bus you are
required to check with local authorities what documents are
required to operate such vehicle in this country; when you
plan to use passenger car for other than leisure purposes you
also need to contact local authorities and ask for information
concerning requirements for commercial
driving.
